The Visible Human: A Model for Computer Assisted Learning in Medical Education
Summary
Technology has provided tools that have
revolutionized medical care. Medical
education, however, has not kept pace
with providing the tools or techniques
based on these technologies to increase
the efficiency of information or know-ledge
transfer. Technology can change
the way we learn (simulation), the rate
at which we learn (immersion) and the
time at which we learn (just-in-time and
life-long learning). New technology can
also be used to transfer the same information
and in the same manner as in the
pretechnology world. That is the trap
we must avoid.
