Computer-administered Formative and Summative Exams in a Medical Basic Science Course

Password protected, timed quizzes/
exams have been incorporated into a
medical basic science course: Cell Biology
and Histology. Compter administered
extra credit quizzes also have
been used since 1996. Practical exams
have been administered each year
counting toward grade determination
(not extra credit). The software, procedure
for constructing and administration
of quizzes and examinations by
computer are described. Also, the data
obtained from surveying two medical
classes concerning the level of acceptance
of computer administered evaluation
are reported here.
