Students in Anthropology and the Place: About Excursions of the Institute of Social- and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Vienna
Summary
In order to conceive of anthropological excursions as meaningful, specific teaching units, a balanced relationship between three aspects has to be achieved. Furthermore, as "situational sensibilities", or "experience" as a key factor for learning admidst social processes are seen as central task, programmes should be articulated according structured and lightly structured domains. So far it is argued that the constitution of "excursion" as a distinct teaching unit, which cannot be replaced, depends upon the consideration of these aspects and other, multidimensional components.
