Fundamental Considerations of the Evaluation Process: Goals, Reliability,
Validity, and Utility
Abstract
Since 1981, Maastricht Medical School has implemented an evaluation approach that
provides information about shortcomings in the program and guidelines for improvement.
This approach enables effective change under certain conditions. The present article
provides an overview of this approach and addressess key-issues in the evaluation of
university teaching.
