Tradition and Change: Models of Staff Development in the United Kingdom
Summary
In recent years, staff development in United Kingdom universities has
become central to institutional priorities and strategies. In the context
of a rapidly changing higher education system, the staff development
agenda is growing. This paper outlines three key models for the
organisation of staff development which have arisen from different
traditions. It discusses some of the key issues and dilemmas which are
having to be addressed.
