Summary
Initiated by an important public financial institution the well-known university Basel has begun a reform-process, which exceeded direct structural aspect by a dynamic development and is lasting on till today. The basis of a succeeding reform process are general laws and far reaching internal autonomy, embedded in a culture of consent and in the confidence of no interference of governmental authorities ... The contribution reports experiences and conclusions (from today's view), which could serve as an example for Austrian reform efforts.
