Summary
The Establishment of Medical Education
as a scientific discipline hat prompted
different institutions to offer specific
training programs for medical educators
and educationalists. There are
currently 7 such programs in existence
worldwide.
This paper reflects the impressions of
one participant in the postgraduate
program "Master of Medical Education"
at the University of Bern, Switzerland.
It is the most recent of its kind.
Content and administration of the program
are described. Possible fields of
application in the Austrian health care
system are pointed out. In conclusion
we list strengths and weaknesses of the
program in its current state.
