The Self-Evaluation-Report for the Evaluation - Experiences and Problems
Summary
In the present work, essential problems could be shown with the preparation of a
self-evaluation-report for the evaluation of an institute. On the basis of the
experiences at the Institute for Anatomy Innsbruck these problems are depicted,
discussed and finally the solution of the Institute is presented.
In detail, questions ar etreated to following areas:
- Should the self-evaluation-report be produced as a minimal or a detailed writing?
- How should the legal bases be represented and whoever can support with the procurement?
- In which form are data to be collected on the research-activity to present and to assess?
- In which form are data to be determined on the number of students and their drop-out-rates and where are these data available?
- When is a student to be assessed as "dropped out"?
- Are high or low drop-out-rates to be assessed positively?
- Which data are essentially for the administration-area and how should these be documented?
- How are the time-expenditures to be grasped for the administration-tasks?
- How can - retrospectively - a Mission-Statement be produced?
