Project based Education in Personnel Management
Summary
Universities are increasingly urged to contribute to the development of professional competencies. At the Department of Business Education and Personnel Management at the University of Innsbruck we have integrated a "reflexive practicum" into the curriculum of teaching personnel management to meet this demand. In this paper we discuss our own experiences that we have made as lecturers with this specific form of learning or teaching. As will be pointed out this form of learning or teaching both challenges traditional qualification profiles of lecturers and often stands in a relationship of tension to the structural and organizational conditions of universities. Nevertheless we reject any one-dimensional assessment of these conditions. In pointing out ambivalences and contradictions we suggest to make creative use of spaces of action.
