Continous Improvement of a Course in Psychiatry by a Questionaire-based Course Evaluation
Summary
Questionaire-based course evaluation for continous quality improvement of a course in psychiatry was implemented at the University of Vienna. The curriculum was evaluated for a preliminary period of 5 weeks and feed-back was given to the teachers. Whereas teachers were evaluated mainly to be friendly and helpful, some parts of the teaching materials were critisized. Feed-back led to a slight but obvious improvement. Findings are critically discussed and conclusions are drawn emphasizing the need of staff development as a condition for improving the psychiatric curriculum.
