Ethical-medical Training in Psychosomatics in Gynaecology and Obstetrics
A Plea for Networking
Summary
Ethical training in medicine is offered to students at the University Clinic for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in combination with the optional subject "Psychotherapy of psychosomatic diseases in women with regard to ethical problems in medicine". Our aim is to transfer the implicit discourse concerning medical ethics into an open discussion by means of structured reflexion based on the principles of self-knowledge and intersubjec-tivity. The students are sensitized for ethical problems as involved observers during diagnostic interviews at the psychosomatic outpatient-clinic of the University clinic for Gynocology and Obstetrics. By discussing the case-studies the students learn to cope with ethical problems explicitly. Also communication in the medical system and effective management of patients can be trained.
