Women's Studies Chairs - Marginalization, Integration or Transformation within the Scientific Canon?

Summary

Asking for professors of Women´s Studies is a moot demand. It is argued that by such professorships feminist research might be marginalized as a kind of additional program and its interdisciplinary character might be jeopardized. On the other hand such safe positions would ensure more continuity of the contents of feminist studies and research. And this again might help to stabilize such studies in students´ curricula and to warrant the tutorial of interested students for a longer period.
