Attempt to Evaluate the Instruction of Medical Psychology (Intermediate Report)
Summary
170 students were tested by means of an elaborated multiple choice questionnaire at their first contact with the Department of Medical Psychology and after they had taken the exam in this subject. The questionnaire contained questions about the curriculum, the students knowledge, attitudes and expectations and about the structure of the subject. A third test will be conducted after the testees have graduated.The results show that students attitudes towards training in Medical Psychology are very positive. What needs to be done is mainly the support and develop these positive attitudes. Furthermore students would welcome a broadening of the teaching programme, but above all they wish for stronger integration of Medical Psychology into medical studies as a whole.
