Postgraduate Board of the Vienna Medical School: Progress Report 1992-1996

Summary

Postgraduate education belongs to the duties of Austrian universities. Contrary to students education costs of postgraduate courses have to be covered by the supplier. The Vienna medical school has appointed a board with the organization of postgraduate courses. The article describes the activities of this board within the last five years. Our program focused mainly on young members of our medical school. Goals were mainly the improvement of clinical and interdisciplinary scientific knowledge and skills. The open courses had up to more than 100 participants, limited courses were concepted for and attended by 15 to 25. Our evaluations showed, that generally participants were highly satisfied with the courses.
